WELCOME!
Welcome to my electronic portfolio. My work in General Education and elective courses at Salt Lake Community College are recorded in this portfolio. It also contains my goals, my resume, and documents my learning outside of the classroom. I encourage you to naviage through this site to see what I have been doing in my first two years in college.
About Me
I grew up in Tooele, and have lived my adult life in Salt Lake & surrounding areas. My husband and I have 8 kids, ranging in age from 3 to 25 years old. Our family is a big part of my life and very important to me.
Regularly attending Hot Yoga (110 degrees!) increases my focus, stamina, and heath. I believe you can't give away what you don't have, and this helps me to be more available to my family. I get the opportunity to travel quite a bit, and the more I travel the more I love coming home to Utah. I like to spend the summer on the lake, and the winter on the mountain snowboarding. I also enjoy riding horses, surfing, learning new things, and spending time with my children and husband.
I work for a residential treatment program for teenagers. The opportunity to make a difference in someone's life makes my job very satisfying. I have always wanted to go to college, but am starting at a later age. Better late than never! That aside, I believe everyone should continue to learn throughout their lives. I'm working on completing my AA degree with an emphasis in Psychology. I will transfer to a university to get my psychology degree. Human behavior is very interesting to me. I like to read any self-help books I can get my hands on, and hey, I can use the help. ;)
